The President
Executive power lies with the Presidential Cabinet. The President, who is head of state and head of government, is elected by the Nitijela. The President appoints cabinet ministers to leading positions in the government departments with the approval of the Nitijela.
The President's Cabinet
The executive authority of the Marshall Islands is vested in the Cabinet, whose members are collectively responsible to the Nitijela.
The Chief Secretary
The Chief Secretary is an officer of the Public Service to be called the Chief Secretary who is the head of the Public Service and the chief administrative and advisory officer of the Government.

Government Structure
Executive

The legislative power of the Marshall Islands shall be vested in the Nitijela and shall be exercised by Act.

The Council may consider any matter of concern to the Marshall Islands, and it may express its opinion thereon to the Cabinet.
